White Solagüen 2015
Aromas of Rioja
A fresh, cheerful and easy drinking white, especially suitable for people who feel optimistic. A fruity wine with complex aromas and very pleasant palate reminiscent excellent Viura grapes Rioja Alavesa.
Vintage advance oriented from the vineyard with selection of the highest quality, cold maceration and batonage with fine lees, allow us to obtain the maximum expression of viura translating into excellent wine.
Picked grapes to produce white Solagüen are 100% Viura. His vines, average age 46, are distributed between 500 and 560 meters, arranged in glass and harvested by hand.
This is the earliest harvest in the history of Rioja. With adequate water intake through the snow and winter rains, high temperatures of late spring an intense vegetative growth accelerated, noticeable in all phases of the cycle. This dry weather also favored the good health state until harvest dates. The grapes were cut with optimum 12.5%, avoiding over-ripening so prevalent in this vintage.
After de-stemming and crush the grapes, maceration is carried out cold with skins for 24 hours. Then the wort is separated by gravity and is decanted, being prepared to ferment at 14oC for about 20 days. After the alcoholic fermentation batonage with fine lees in tank and a final racking before clarification is made and bottled.
Body straw yellow, bright, with greyish tones on the rim.
Essentially fruity wine and some complexity, with primary aromas and especially fermentales, among which are pear, banana, peach, nettle, peppermint, lemon peel and floral background.
Combined with balanced acidity and volume by working with lees; easily perceived herbs and white fruit via retro-nasal. Fermental, fresh and fruity.
