BURUZAGI
The name
It comes from Basque and means ‘thinking head’ in reference to the former King of the Kingdom of Navarra Eneko Aritza. The image shows Aritza ascending through the forest when he lost the crown.
Varieties
60% Garnacha and 40% Monastel from La Rioja
Production
900 bottles of 0.75 cl.
Vineyard
Old vineyards of Camprovín, in the Rioja Alta in the Alto Najerilla area. Vineyard at altitude and with clones of old Rioja Grenache and Monastel on clay-ferrous soils with just over 10% stone
Vinification
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in used 1,000 liter French oak vats. It carries out malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for 10 months in used 600L barrels.
Tasting Notes
Floral, elegant nose, forest fruits with a mineral background. In the mouth it is elegant, broad, with magnificent acidity, soft tannin and magnificent length.
