The name

The name and its striking label express Oxer’s admiration for Shakespeare. “Honi soit qui mal y pense” (Disgrace befall him who thinks evil).

Varieties

60% Viura, 10% Calagraño and the remaining 30% Torrontés, Malvasía, Maturana Blanca and Garnacha Blanca

Production

2,100 bottles of 0.75 cl.

Vineyards

Very old vineyards from Rioja Alavesa with altitudes of 600 meters, on clay-calcareous soils with yields of around 3,000 kg per hectare.

Vinification

Direct pressing of whole bunches, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, previously looking for hyperoxidation when pressing. Subsequently, the wine is transferred to used 600L French oak barrels where it finishes fermenting, malolactic included, and where it will remain for 10 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes

On the nose aromas of white fruit and citrus notes. In the mouth it shows acidity and magnificent Grand Cru minerality that gives it incredibly long length.
