Vineyards and terrain: The grapes come from our”Portillo” plot, at an average altitude of 620 m above sea level. Mainly calcareous/clay, except the westernmost part of the plot which is predominantly stony.The subsoil is made up of various layers of white rockThe plot is uneven and south facing, sheltered by small hillocks that su- rround it.
Climate: Mediterranean climate with strong Atlantic in uence. Extreme winter-summer contrast. Precipitation: 524 litres. Ave.Temp: min. 7,2oC, max 17,3oC, average 12oC. Days of rain: 113 Humidity average: 72,24%
The vineyards: 97% Tempranillo and 3% Viura. Vine planted in 1967. Plantation density: 3.000 Vines/Hectare. Goblet pruning. Production: 4.580 Kg. /Hectare. Hand harvested in 15 Kg boxes, on 9th October.
Wine-Making:Vineyard grape selection, only the best grapes are taken to the winery. Light destemming process to avoid damaging the gra- pes. Pre-fermentation cold maceration.
Alcoholic fermentation in a wooden vat for 16 days at a maxi- mum temperature of 27°C. Malolactic fermentation in new French oak casks (two of 500 li-tres capacity, and 4 of 225 litres). 14 months cask ageing. This wine does not undergo any stabili- sation or ltering process. Bottled on 13th March 2015.

Tasting Notes: Intense aroma of red fruits with outstanding expressivity on a creamy wooden background, spicy nuances and glossy touch. Tasty, fleshy, with excellent weight of fruit, firm and sweet tannins, fine high roasts notes with a slightly acidic structure.
