MATALAZ Toro
The name
Matalaz was a priest who led a popular revolt of the people against the nobility, in favor of the interests of the peasants, but who failed in his fight against the French army. He was beheaded and his head was hung at the entrance to the city as a warning to the people.

90% Tinta de Toro and 10% Malvasia

Vineyard
Old vineyards in the Villabuena del Puente area on sandy soils with a large amount of quartz, very poor with very low yields per hectare.
Vinification
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in a 1,000L vats. Carry out malolactic fermentation in used 500L French oak barrels. Subsequent aging for 7 months in 600L barrels for various uses.
Tasting Notes
Black fruit with elegant floral notes reminiscent of vintage wines. Pleasantly fresh acidity, fine and long in the mouth. Long drink wine.
