Matarromera Winery
In Valbuena de Duero, the cradle of Tempranillo in the Ribera del Duero, the roots of Bodega Matarromera are settled, on the side of a hill facing south, from which the impassive River Duero can be seen. This cozy winery is the perfect setting for the production of aging wines, since the conditions provided by its semi-buried warehouses are perfect for the production of wines in which the balance between the oak and the Tempranillo is the protagonist. The first vintage of Bodega Matarromera obtained the Great Gold Medal at the International Wine Competition, which was an incredible starting point for a story full of successes.
Heiress to a privileged vineyard in one of the most exclusive areas of the Ribera del Duero, Bodega Matarromera is dedicated to the production of large reserve, reserve and aging red wines, and a white wine, with total personality and excellence. Its wines are the result of the perfect mesh between the creative genius of nature and the obstinacy of a man to recover the family tradition, collect and perpetuate a legacy.
Matarromera Pago de las Solanas
When the sun caresses the buds of dreams This unique wine proudly bears the name of its vineyard located in Olivares de Duero, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero Golden Mile. The Pago de las Solanas is, above all, a sight to behold due to its idyllic landscape. Located between 740 and 820 meters above sea level, it is a plot of land with a notable slope sheltered by a hillside, crowned by a pine forest in which partridges, hares, wild boars, roe deer and foxes happily share their habitat. Its southerly orientation guarantees excellent sun exposure and its location protects the vineyards from the prevailing westerly winds. In three words: it has it all. Land, climate and vineyard. Also, the wine: Its peculiar acidic black fruit stands out, which gives it persistence, like the ripe blackberry. Wine with a lot of minerality provided by its limestone soil.
Subtle nuances of spices and cocoa.
Fantastic balance, typical of a wine with soul. Big body. Magic, typical of a signature wine. This is a perfect wine to drink alone. But it can be accompanied with roast meat, including game, Iberian ham, foie gras and cheese. A suggestion: Dare to pair it with chocolate.
TASTING PHASES
