Solagüen Gran Reserva 2005

Selected for the Solagüen Grand Reserve vines are between 40 and 60 years, they are located in the upper area, arranged in glass and are harvested by hand. After aging for 24 months in barrels medium toasted American and French oak, rests at least 3 years in the bottle.
This wine makes us proud of the legacy that makes our land pioneer in the processes of maturation and aging of great wines.
VARIETAL
100% of the grapes are harvested by hand tempranillo, from vineyards arranged in glass and placed between 570 and 650 m. altitude.
HARVEST
Rated as excellent, the 2005 harvest had a benign growth cycle and favored by moderate but well distributed rainfall climatology, enough to curdled. There were ten days advance over 2004 and was exemplary in health status and weather. Thanks to advancement, almost all of the crop was harvested before mid-October storms.
WINEMAKING
Bunches destemmed and barreling for 16 days with temperature control at 27 oC. Posterior bleeding severity and second malolactic fermentation spontaneously within two weeks.
AGING BARREL
After discarding 20% of the wine and fermented in a second selection in the cellar (the first selection is on the vineyard) based on the qualitative condition of color, essential to define a wine that will have a long evolutionary life factor, it was saved for 24 months in oak barrels, mixing 80% + 20% American and French decanting of cleaning every 6 months.
AGING BOTTLE
After the barrel the wine only needs a slight clarification and final decanting, which allows bottling without filtration. The minimum aging in bottle set for this Gran Reserva is thirty-six months.
VIEW
High core layer and hue pillory, with cherry trim. Bright and clean.
NOSE
Intense, complex, kind and evolutionary: wine pinpoints slowly as varied shades will aerating. Base ripe fruit with cocoa, sour cherries, spices and smoky light. With the stay in cup roasted nuances emerge. perfectly integrated, noticeable but without covering the fruity character of the wine timber.
MOUTH
Fullness of attack based flavor of wild berries as the main sápida feeling, as a mixture of jam, candy and macerated cherries. Light velvety, with milk and chocolate liquor final. Lingering and warm.
It is a wine in which the positively classic Riojas caráccter of long aging, he brings it with intensity and essentially with the complexity that can only be developed with long stay in the bottle is recognized.
