El Laberinto by Viña Ane
El Laberinto is the star wine of Bodegas Monge-Garbati de San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
It is made with the Tempranillo grape variety from its Valseca vineyard with clay-calcareous soil. After the manual selection of the grapes and a soft destemming, the fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature for 10 days and maceration for 5 days.
El Laberinto is aged in new French barrels for 12 months. The result is a wine with a very intense color, eccentric and original on the nose, and friendly on the palate.
TASTING NOTES
COLOUR: Very intense color. The light does not pass through the Labyrinth, but it does allow to glimpse some layers on others of ultra seas and Prussian blue mixed with permanent violets. A delicate magenta crown contacts the glass. Thick and dense, slow-flowing tear, highly pigmented.
NOSE: On the nose it is like all of it, original, I would say eccentric, a rarity. It has everything and everything so much that it is difficult to define its aromas. Advertises laurel and also cloves, anise and ripe plums. The wood I know has it but you have to look for it because the fruit floods everything. Shaking it melts all those smells and the result is impressive.
MOUTH: It is kind, silky and velvety, a whisper of chewed grapes on a hot October.
It is telluric, fresh and deep. Again fruit and mineral, stones in the sun. Its passage through the oak is enough to tame it, but you have to guess.
