ANTIDOTO
Bodegas Antidoto collects the wine tradition of a land with centuries-old vineyards, special and unique due to its altitude, its climate and the peculiarities of a terrain that give it a different character compared to the rest of the Ribera del Duero. Bertrand & David work hand in hand with the winegrowers of the San Esteban area, in 776 small plots totaling 110 hectares spread across 15 towns.
Bertrand began in the world of wine in the Loire region of France, following the family tradition. In 1999 he visited Soria for the first time and found a land with a winemaking tradition, which he had barely explored the possibilities of, beyond home-made winemaking. And yet, the Soria riverside area housed the treasures of the old vineyards. Bertrand envisioned that these lands could produce great wines, if they were worked properly. So it was. His vision became a reality and his influence and methods spread throughout the Ribera del Duero of Soria. Today it is a region recognized throughout the world for its high quality wines. His arrival was a great little revolution. He knew how to see, as the poet Antonio Machado did in his time in Soria, the virtue of fields punished by a harsh winter and an extreme climate that, however, hid extraordinary potential. After his time at Atauta, in 2011 he created Bodegas Antidoto, with the help of his partner, David Hernando.
ELABORATION
His flagship, Antidoto, is the first wine that was made in the winery, seeking the depth and expressiveness of the Ribera del Duero of Soria. Its vocation is that of a fresh and jovial wine, but with a distinguished personality, to be enjoyed on all occasions. This fine red wine is made with a short maceration and aged in 600l French oak barrels.
TASTING NOTES
Cherry red color. On the nose, ripe fruit, with a light and clean aroma of wood, a smoky touch. In the mouth it is balanced, fresh, silky on the palate.
