Jesús Madrazo Nº IV
Jesús Madrazo is appointed Technical Director of Viñedos del Contino (Laserna) in April 1999, where he remains 18 years by creating prestigious wines as Viña del Olivo and rescuing from the Rioja oblivion the first monovarietal of Graciano.
After long years being the soul of vineyards of the Continino, Jesús Madrazo decides to undertake his personal project in 2017. For this, one of the most important figures of Rioja oenology soon being claimed by multiple wineries to advise them. This allows you to continue and expand what you already did in vineyards of the Continino, that is, its own selection of grapes to make extraordinary wines that it baptizes with its name as a guarantee of quality.
ELABORATION
Selected and wasteful manual harvest. The Merlot, Graciano and La Tempranillo come from grapes from the upper area of Rioja: Cuzcurrita del Rio Tirón, La Mazuela and La Garnacha come from Rioja Baja. He fermented in stainless deposit at temperatures from 28th to 30ºC for 7 days, after another 10 days of maceration, the maloactic fermentation took place for 15 days in 70% barrels and in deposit 30% and the parenting remained in those oaks (American and 50%French, not new), for 13 months.
TASTING NOTES
The Jesús Madrazo NºIV is clean and with a vivid color almost pillory, with a high middle layer. An intense red fruit nose wild berries, and black some blackberries, mental chocolate), and spicy notes of black pepper and nail. In the mouth it is fresh with very good acidity, well balanced wood.
